Three projects for women from the governorates of the New Valley, Cairo, and Marsa Matrouh won the first three places in the “Nawal Mostafa for Women Entrepreneurs 2022” competition, whose activities were launched under the slogan “handicrafts and environmentally friendly products” on Sunday evening, March 27, 2022, at the Greater Cairo Library in Zamalek.
“Randa Seif” from the New Valley Governorate won the first place for the “Nature’s Corner” project for “recycling palm waste,” and “Amal Ali” won the second place from Cairo Governorate for the project of recycling fabric waste, and won the third place “Amani Ali” from Matrouh Governorate, about the “Nawara” project for various hand-made products inspired by the Siwan style.
The award ceremony was attended by Dr. Rania Ezzat, on behalf of the Minister of Social Solidarity, Dr. Khaled Abdel Fattah, Advisor to the Ministry of Social Solidarity, Dr. Hayat Khattab, Senator, and Suhair Abdel Qader, President of the Awladna Foundation for the Arts of People with Special Ability, as well as some members of Parliament.
The competition management held an exhibition of the products of 10 contestants who were shortlisted for the competition this year, as well as the winners of the competition during the past two sessions, which received a great interaction from those attending the ceremony with admiration for the women’s products and the quality of handicrafts and materials as well.
The competition comes under the auspices of Dr. Nevin Al-Kabbaj, Minister of Social Solidarity, and targets all women and girls over the age of 18, who have talent in the field of handicrafts of all kinds; In addition to environmentally friendly products. The prizes are divided into two categories, the first is for 3 winners to receive full support for projects, and the second for 7 winners to receive grants and training courses in entrepreneurship and small projects; With the aim of encouraging women who have talents and have the ability to manage their projects.
