The “Children’s Creativity Center” held the closing ceremony of the summer program for children on September 25, 2023 at the Greater Cairo Library headquarters. This was in the presence of writer Nawal Mustafa, CEO and founder of the Children of Female Prisoners Association (CFPA), and the association’s work team, Mr. Yasser Othman, General Director of the Cairo Library, and Mr. Ahmed Ali, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the “We Are All Good Guide” Foundation, along with the children’s families and volunteers.
The concert included a storytelling show, “Stories After Sleep,” which consists of presenting 10 different stories for children of the age group (10-15), in addition to showing a group of diverse songs (patriotic, educational, presented to mothers, and occasion songs) led by Maestro Ahmed Issa.
At the beginning of her speech, writer Nawal Mustafa thanked the Greater Cairo Library and its director, Mr. Yasser Othman, for hosting many of the association’s activities, especially those for children.
She explained that learning through art is the basic of the center, and this is done through periodic sessions held with children to discover their most prominent problems and then work on them through artistic components, including (theatrical performances, drawing, music).
In turn, Mr. Yasser Othman, Director General of the Cairo Library, praised the children’s performance and their expressive ability to express issues that bother them, which appeared strongly during the celebration. He also praised the role of those in charge of the center, led and directed by writer Nawal Mustafa, in discovering the children’s areas of weakness and working to treat them, as well as their strengths, and trying to highlight it by developing their diverse talents and skills (drawing – singing – acting).
On the sidelines of the celebration, an exhibition of products from the Children’s Creativity Center was launched, which includes a group of handicraft products and artistic paintings resulting from training children in various forms of handicrafts and drawing. Program volunteers were also trained.
It is worth noting that the Child Creativity Center was established in 2019 in cooperation between the Children of Female Prisoners Association and the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development.
The Children of female prisoners’ care association (CFPA) was founded in 1990 after a large press campaign on the pages of the Egyptian newspaper “Al-Akhbar” (one of the largest Egyptian newspapers).
