The New Life project comes within the framework of Cooperation & Partnership between the Association for the Welfare of Women Prisoners and the Drosos Foundation in 2013, which aims to economically empower current and former female prisoners, by training and teaching them small and simple crafts, and start employing them in the private sector or making small projects for them, because, after their release from prison, they They encounter a bitter reality, which is that the reason for their entry to prison remains, with the addition of another dangerous factor, which is society's rejection of them, and they find no other way than crime, so that the closed circuit is completed and they are returned to prison again.

New Life Project Features

As part of the New Life project, a sewing workshop was established in cooperation between the Ministry of Interior and the Community Protection Sector; To employ female prisoners inside Al-Qanater prison, and to be a role model in all prisons, to serve the female prisoners who will be released in a period of one to three years, so that after their release from prison they will have the skills and craftsmanship with which they can work, or establish their own projects.

To complement the economic empowerment axis of the project, a new life factory was opened in 2017, and it was equipped with the latest machines to provide job opportunities for female prisoners after their release. The factory produces clothing industry products of various types (men, women, and children), in addition to leather, embroidery and crochet.

With regard to the legal aspect, a new life project was launched by the National Alliance for the Protection of Women by Law in 2017, and the second phase was launched in 2021 to complete legal efforts to protect those who are in debt to the law.

Psychological rehabilitation also comes within the framework of the project. To create a welcome space to return comfortably to the social environment through an integrated program targeting women and their children, through several modern techniques and techniques that include (telling - role-playing - motor performance). to continue life.
