The department of post-care held its celebration yesterday at the Police Sports Club to deliver gifts and aids to newly released prisoners and their families celebrating the beginning of the school year and the Islamic New Year. The Children of Female Prisoners’ Association (CFPA) participated with a large number of school bags, books for the primary elementary and school supplies like handbooks and pens.
Care Ceremony
The ceremony was attended by Major General Hisham Abbas, Assistant Minister for Social Security, and Major General Khalaf Hussein, Director of the Post-Care Police.
This comes within the framework of completion of the Ministry of Interior for its efforts in providing humanitarian assistance to prisoners, and to uphold human rights and respect for freedoms.
The collaboration between the association and the Ministry of Interior extended to meet all the needs of prisoners’ families and their participation in all events, for entertainment purposes as well as to complete the process of reentry to formerly incarcerated individuals and to provide them with jobs opportunities securing them a stable source of income and successfully reintegrating them into society.
