The Association for Children of Female Prisoners (CFPA), headed by writer Nawal Mustafa, held the “Journey of Hope” conference to present the successes of the activities of the “New Life 2” project, in the presence of the Minister of Social Solidarity, Dr. Nevin Al-Qabbaj. The project aims to empower former female prisoners economically, reintegrate them into society, and protect them legally with the National Alliance for the Protection of Women by Law.

Nevin Al-Qabbaj: We released 5,120 female debtors.

Dr. Nevin Al-Qabbaj, Minister of Social Solidarity, said at the beginning of her speech that the writer Nawal Mustafa’s journey with women prisoners of poverty and their children deserves appreciation and respect for her devotion to her cause.

Dr. Nevin Al-Qabbaj added that the Ministry supports 44,000 prisoner families, with a total annual support exceeding 36 million pounds, for their children, within the community protection program.

Regarding the issue of debtors, Al-Qabbaj confirmed that the Ministry is a key partner in the “Egypt Without Debtors” initiative launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and during the past year, 5,120 women were released after spending 207 million pounds on their reconciliation cases, and there are small amounts paid for some women, saving an entire family.

During her speech, writer Nawal Mustafa thanked Dr. Nevin Al-Qabbaj.

Nawal Mustafa honored Minister Nevin Al-Qabbaj by presenting her with the association’s shield and some of the products of the New Life Tailoring and Handicrafts Workshop.

The Minister of Social Solidarity, Dr. Nevin Al-Qabbaj, and the writer Nawal Mustafa, founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the CFPA Association, also opened the “New Life” products exhibition on the sidelines of the celebration, which includes hand made of the beneficiaries of the New Life Project, which vary between handicrafts and natural leather products, And clothing. The attendees expressed their admiration for the products that are characterized by high quality and competitive price.
