Al Basaisa Day

The Children of Female Prisoners’ Care Association (CFPA) participated in the annual celebration & exhibition of NGO’s for the construction of the Future of Egypt (Al Basaisa) on Friday and Saturday, 29 & 30 of April 2016.

The celebration was organized by El Sawy culture wheel and the Forum for Dialogue and Participation for Development, the Egyptian-Palestinian Friendship Foundation and the Youth and Development Advisory Foundation (Etiah) in Zamalek on Friday at 12 p.m at AL-Nahr Hall.

The celebration focused on women empowerment, productive families and young people to participate in community work to leadership and productivity.

This is the 12th round of  the exhibition, which is held regularly at the American University in Cairo, it was named (Al Basaisa) after the village of al-Basaisa in A Zagazig zone, which began since 1971 under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Salah Arafa – professor of physics at the American University to rely on self-efforts in the development of its productive capacity through the promotion of civil work, which also extended to the eradication of illiteracy, the use of solar and photovoltaic energy and its transformation into electricity and desert reclamation through the construction of the new village Al Basaisa, 8 kilometers from the city of Ras Sidr in South Sinai in 1992.

Al Basaisa Day “This year’s exhibition of handicrafts was attended by about 50 associations from all over Egypt to present their products and participate in seminars on improving association products and civil institutions, as well as artistic and folkloric performances.
